During the months of November and December, Almadina School focused on the Virtue of Acceptance. Our school themed acceptance literature was “Giraffes Can’t Dance” – an inspiring tale about determination, acceptance and encouraging others. Almadina students put their acceptance virtue into action by being buddy-helpers during recess times. In addition, the grade three and grade four Virtue Stars connected with our community Senior’s Center to perform a song about peace and share special holiday cards. See details of their special visit on Mrs. Haziri’s upcoming Virtue Stars blog post. On December 6, Almadina students, staff and parents attended our school Acceptance assembly. The grade three and four Virtue Stars introduced our assembly with an encouraging Acceptance chant to engage the audience. Then Superintendent ElRafih and Principal Raja shared inspiring messages about the meaning of acceptance. Soon after, Ms. Huang’s and Mr. Woods’ classes shared the heartfelt and inspiring song “Count On Me”. Next, Mrs. Bhaidani’s and Mrs. Tyrrell’s classes amazed the audience with a moving, musical performance of “Giraffes Can’t Dance”. After, Mr. Zaidi’s class entertained the crowd with some active skits about the message of acceptance. At last our Acceptance Virtue Winners were announced. A special thank you to our Acceptance Committee, Almadina staff, students and parents for making our Almadina Acceptance virtue another great triumph this year. We look forward to our next school virtue of Respect!
