Almadina’s Terry Fox Run and fundraiser was another great success this year! Nearly forty years ago, Terry Fox began his legacy of helping others touched by cancer. His legacy has inspired Almadina School to participate in the annual Terry Fox run each year. To date, around the world, over $700 million has been raised in support of the Terry Fox Foundation. This year, Almadina definitely made a difference in continuing to raise donations for cancer research. During September, our school’s goal was for each student to donate a toonie or more towards the Terry Fox Foundation. On September 26, Almadina students and staff participated in our annual Terry Fox run. With amazing spirit and conscience, the ECSers jump started our Terry Fox run with their morning mini-run. Later in the afternoon, the grade one to fours continued Terry Fox’s run and legacy with pride and perseverance. Almadina truly did its part towards contributing to the Terry Fox foundation by raising a significant total of $2,264.05! Congratulations to Ms. Huang’s class for raising the most money for a free gym period. A huge thank you to families, students, staff and our M.V. Fundraising Committee for making our Terry Fox Run and fundraiser another memorable achievement this year!
