On November 8th, Mountain View honored our veterans and their families at our Remembrance Day assembly. Our students learned more about the importance of remembering, showing gratitude, and respect for those who have fought for our freedom and for those who continue to help other countries in their time of need. Our special guest, Ordinary Seaman Janeil Lentz, shared her first hand perspective of the significance of this day. Jannah in grade one recited an endearing poem called “Little Poppy,” grade 2Khan and 2Bhaidani performed two beautiful Remembrance Day songs, grade 4 students Usman & Amira shared their knowledge of Remembrance Day, and Mohamad & Zoha recited the well-known poem: In Flanders Fields. Thank you to all of the students and teachers who made this special assembly happen. Mountain View would like to thank Ordinary Seaman Janeil Lentz for taking the time to visit us on this importance day.
