During November, the grade three students took a world trip to the communities of Peru, India, Ukraine and Tunisia with Teacher’s PET. To begin their journey, the students identified each country’s location on a globe. Soon after the students became active world tourists! They traveled around to each destination to explore some unique celebrations, traditions, and artifacts. In Ukraine and Peru, the grade threes discovered traditional folktales and learned string games. They created lanterns from India’s tradition of Diwali. The students learned about Tunisian Souks and underground desert homes. They inquired about each country’s valuable exports. The students even learned how to say thank you in four different languages! Thank you to all our families who volunteered to be our “travel agents” during our Social Studies in-class field trip.
