In November and December, the Literacy Committee held four Literacy Cafes (2 for Grades K-2 and 2 for Grades 3-4) to celebrate our author Elizabetti Dami (Geronimo Stilton).
Students in Grades K-2 participated in activities such as making letters from playdough and learning letter sounds, and making mouse bookmarks.
Students in Grades 3-4 learned new vocabulary and learned how to sound out new words. They also learned about Niagara Falls (where the Falls are located and some unique facts). Students that participated in these cafes appeared to enjoy themselves, and the committee members had fun doing these fun activities with the students.
Activities such as these cannot be successful without the participation of the entire school staff. Thank you for taking the time to select students to participate and for encouraging your students to read and participate in other activities that were provided to compliment the two Geronimo Stilton books.
We are looking forward to revealing our new author soon and the exciting activities that this author brings!
Thank you for your continued support!
