Students at Mountain View campus recently enjoyed an entertaining presentation from The NED Show, a school wide character education program that promotes a culture of kindness and excellence in the school setting. NED is a lovable cartoon character whose name reminds students to always follow three simple guiding principles: Never give up, Encourage others, and Do your best!

Students were entertained by magic and yo-yo tricks, all of which tied back to the central messages of having perseverance and showing kindness in everything they do. Students have the opportunity to purchase their very own yo-yo’s to learn and practice their own tricks. Yo-yoing provides students with an opportunity to use NED’s three guiding principles. While it may not be easy at first, everyone makes mistakes along the way. Students learn that it is important to learn from their mistakes and never give up. Practicing helps to build persistence and perseverance as well as a fulfillment in knowing they are doing their very best as they learn to yo along with NED. To learn more about this special program, check out the different yo-yo’s available for purchase, or access the many tricks to learn, you can visit www.thenedshow.com.

We hope students can transfer this simple message to all areas of their lives, whether its at school, home, with friends, or when faced with any challenge that may come their way. Following NED’s three guiding principles will help each child discover there is a champion inside themselves!
