Have you read Shel Silverstein’s book, A Giraffe and a Half?

“If you had a giraffe and he stretched another half, you would have a giraffe and a half. But what happens if you glue a rose to the tip of his nose? Or if you used a chair to comb his hair? Join this giraffe on a rollicking and ridiculous journey that will charm readers from beginning to end.”
Students have been listening to this story and discovering more books during their library blocks with Mrs. Rao! Shel Silverstein has also written many poems. We have been listening to some of his poetry during morning announcements.

Help us “shelebrate” poetry month by staying tuned for more news from your Literacy Committee.

In the meantime, be sure to check out: www.shelsilverstein.com for more fun filled activities and work of Shel Silverstein.

Happy Reading,
